Overdrive Orchestra – American Dream lyrics

Welcome home to the land of the free
Free to lose your mind
A bill of rights, but who’s right to be so wrong?
Woken up again from an American Dream
Back to reality, a sad shadow of a nation long lost
Corrupt with power but not entitled to use it
Propaganda force fed to us like pigs prepared for a slaughter
While gluttonous hogs feast off our bones

If you’re wrong, take it out on me
And if you’re right, there’s nothing left to say
And if you’ve won, turn your rust to gold
But if you’re wrong, throw yourself away

Resurgence of the fourth reich here in America
Silently, swiftly, creepin’ through your area
Hysteria
No rights left from Miranda
As she feeds us propaganda like a fuckin’ cafeteria
Give us a voice just to zip up our lips
Given no choice but just to stick to the script
‘Cuz improvisation is a threat to the nation
An invasion on the United States of Corporation
A stain on the image they keep tryin’ to paint
The portrait of sinner, depicted as a saint
But a saint ain’t meant to be one to deceive
Abuse power and cease to occupy overseas
But when we as a people occupy Wall Street
We get beaten and sprayed, cuffed and taken away
Nothing less than Marshal Law with the ndaa
They just label us as terrorists and lock us in the bay

If you’re wrong, take it out on me
And if you’re right, there’s nothing left to say
And if you’ve won, turn your rust to gold
But if you’re wrong, throw yourself away

N.E.R.D – It’s In The Air lyrics

[Congressman Patrick Kennedy]
If anybody wants to know where cynicism is, cynicism is that there’s one, two, press people in this gallery. We’re talking about Eric Massa 24/7 on the TV, we’re talking about war and peace, three billion dollars, a thousand lives and no press?! No press?! You wanna know why the American public is fit, they’re fit because they’re not seeing their congress do the work that they’re said to do. It’s because the press, the press of the United States is not covering the most significant issue of national importance, and that’s a laying of lives down in the nation, for the service of our country. It’s despicable, the national press core right now

[Pharrell]
Mmm Dada, I’m sure you can tell
It’s in the air, of our nation
It may shock ya, the maddest hallucination
But the dead people, they’ll be dressed well (yeah)
They say

[Shay Haley]
What’s yo’ name? You the one starin
Oh my God, lemme shake yo’ hand
Do it like this, do it like that
Can you switch it up? Send it right back
Frown to your back, smile to your face
Think I keep it real, but I keep it fake
Think I’m ahead, but I’m the ass
Man I’m really sick, I really need a mask
Woof!

[Hook]
And now it’s in the air, spreading everywhere
So you should be prepared
(Ain’t no pill or cough syrup)
(That can help so you better hurr’up)
Come on, come on, come on
Hey, hey, hey
It’s in the air
Hey, hey, hey
Come on, come on, come on
Hey, hey, hey
It’s in the air
Hey, hey, hey

[Pharrell]
To spread this thing, they don’t need a tongue
Instead they use the precious lungs
But the scariest thing, they don’t {?} kill ya
But they’re still dead people dancin’ like Thriller

[Shay Haley]
What’s yo’ name? You the one starin
Oh my God, lemme shake yo’ hand
Do it like this, do it like that
Can you switch it up? Send it right back
Frown to your back, smile to your face
Think I keep it real, but I keep it fake
Think I’m ahead, but I’m the ass
Man I’m really sick, I really need a mask
Woof!

[Hook]

[Pharrell]
They comin in, they get me now
What a shitstorm of the situation
But a maid and I, guns to the biggest cloud
Stop big brother and there’s invasion (yeah) come on

[Shay Haley]
What’s yo’ name? You the one starin
Oh my God, lemme shake yo’ hand
Do it like this, do it like that
Can you switch it up? Send it right back
Frown to your back, smile to your face
Think I keep it real, but I keep it fake
Think I’m the head, but I’m the ass
Man I’m really sick, I really need a mask
Woof!

[Hook]

Chamillionaire Responds To Critics For Helping Deported Man’s Family

Chamillionaire has responded to critics who came at him for helping a deported man’s family.

The Texas rapper offered some finacial assistant to the family of Jorge Garcia. Garcia was recently deported to Mexico after living in the United States for most of his life. He has a wife and kids who he left behind and they are in need of financial assistance and that’s where the rapper stepped in. Social media has become a place to attack individuals these days and Chamillionaire got a taste of that backlash this week.

You would think that what he did was a good cause and one hundred percent I think he should have been getting praise for it, but some folks are accusing him of helping an outsider. The Houston native has since posted a video responding to the backlash. “A lot of people are hitting me saying, ‘I’m proud of you for wanting to help an immigrant family in their time of need’ but I a lot of people are hitting saying, ‘I don’t understand why a black man would want to help Mexicans’ and nonsense like, ‘They don’t do nothing for us black people need to help black people’” Chamillionaire said.

“I’m sorry you feel that way, but I’m from Texas. I know a lot of y’all have been led to believe the toxic narrative that Mexicans are doing this and Mexicans are doing that like they aren’t valuable contributors to our economy,” the “Ridin’ (Dirty)” rapper added.

TSR STAFF: Talia O. @theclosetratchet _______________________________________ Rapper #Chamillionaire has been quietly working to connect with the family of #JorgeGarcia. Thanks to the Trump administration's crackdown on immigration, he was recently deported back to Mexico after living in the U.S. for thirty years with no criminal record. Jorge has also spent close to $125,000 on legal costs in efforts to get himself legalized since 2005 to no avail. _______________________________________ The man's story gained traction thanks to Detroit Free Press reporter Niraj Warikoo. Chamillionaire wanted to reach out to the Garcia family so that he could assist with their finances in Jorge's absence. Unfortunately the rapper has received backlash for "not helping his own." He took to Instagram last night where he reminded people that he is a product of immigrants and criticized them for trying to diminish the role of immigrants in the United States. _______________________________________ "A lot of people are hitting me saying, 'I'm proud of you for wanting to help an immigrant family in their time of need,' but I a lot of people are hitting saying, 'I don't understand why a Black man would want to help Mexicans' and nonsense like, 'They don't do nothing for us! Black people need to help Black people!'" Chamillionaire began. _______________________________________ "I'm sorry you feel that way, but I'm from Texas. I know a lot of y'all have been led to believe the toxic narrative that Mexicans are doing this and Mexicans are doing that like they aren't valuable contributors to our economy and our society." JAY-Z To Young Fan “You Will Be President Someday”

JAY-Z is one of those timeless rappers, he has fans ranging all ages, and on Monday night one young fan got a big shutout at his concert.

The rap legend was performing at his 4:44 Tour stop in Cleveland, Ohio, when he paused to acknowledge a 9-year-old girl rocking out to his music at the front of the audience. JAY-Z is himself a father of two girls so he has that protective instinct in him already. The rapper is also known for his commentary on social on political issues affecting us, so when he told this little girl that she will be president one day, it was no surprise.

“You can be anything that you want to be in the world,” Hov told his young fan who was delighted for the shout-out. “At this very moment, America is way more sexist than they are racist. But you, young lady, you got the potential to be the next president of the United States. You believe that.”

The part of his message about sexism made some fans a little uneasy since he was talking to a 9-year-old girl. But the point of his message way overshadow any little uneasiness that what he said may have caused. Watch the video below.

JAY-Z's spontaneous conversation with a 9 year old girl:

Sean Paul To Upcoming Dancehall Acts “Work Hard Be Unique”

Sean Paul has sold over 26 million records in the United States and just recently the dancehall star was award with a plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for the achievement.

Additionally, he also received platinum plaques for his dancehall classics “Get Busy,” “We Be Burning,” and “Temperature” which was certified three times platinum. The achievement makes Sean Paul only one of six Jamaican artists to get platinum status in the United States. When asked about his formula for success for young acts, he said hard work, follow your heart and be unique.

“Just follow your heart and that’s what art is really about,” he said. “It’s about following your heart and creating beautiful things that maybe other people didn’t see or think of before. I’m very proud of the way that I’ve performed and that I’m able to present our music to a wider audience, and 26 million sales represent to me dedication over the years. It means also fans’ involvement. Without their support, I couldn’t be here. I just have to big dem up.”

Sean Paul is one of the most commercially successful dancehall artists out of Jamaica ever, and some international publications even call him the king of dancehall. A lot of Jamaican dancehall fans will disagree, but if we should base the kingship solely on international impact and music sales, then SP would easily sit on the thrown. But that debate is for another time. In the meantime, let’s congratulate Dutty Paul on his phenomenal achievement, for a job well done, and for representing dancehall and Jamaican music culture at the highest level.

Tommy Lee Sparta Blames Vybz Kartel For Career Setbacks

Tommy Lee Sparta is blaming his travel woes squarely at the feet of Vybz Kartel.

Gazanation fans will likely go HAM on Tommy Lee Sparta for making this statement, but some industry attorneys are saying that he is absolutely right about his assessment. Sparta was one of Vybz Kartel’s most loyal proteges before he was sent to prison for life for a 2014 murder conviction. The big question now is Kartel’s legal troubles affecting artists who were previously associated with him like Tommy Lee and Popcaan.

We’re told that both artists are unable to secure a U.S. visa because of their affiliation to Vybz Kartel. The “Soul Reaper” deejay says that he has been going through hell while trying to travel overseas for his shows. “I feel like they put something on my name,” Sparta said. “Every time I try to travel, they treat me different, like I am some bomber. When they run my passport, Vybz Kartel business come up and everything. They are acting like I am involved in certain things and pure red lines come up on my documents at the airports. I don’t know who did it to my documents.”

Tommy Lee Sparta currently has a mountain of legal troubles and is currently awaiting trial for lottery scam. On three separate times, he was named a person of interest in different crimes in Kingston and Montego including a shooting incident. He was never charged with a crime. Some legal experts inside the dancehall space are saying that the artist has a point about being affected by Vybz Kartel’s legal problems, but all he needs is proper legal representation to clear his team. Tommy Lee has been unable to travel to the United States for shows for years and just last month Popcaan was denied travel documents to take part in the Red Bull Culture Clash in Atlanta.

Quavo Agrees To Remake US National Anthem Under One Condition

Quavo has agreed to remake the United States national anthem but he will do so under one condition.

Last week, Change.org petitioned for the Atlanta rapper to remake the national anthem amidst growing race relation tension stemming from the Charlottesville, VA incident. A TMZ photographer caught up with Quavo and asked him about the petition and he said he would do it but only if it includes all races. That is something that the vast majority of Americans would agree with.

“There’s a lot going on behind the national anthem, so I would love to do it, but I want to make a 2017 national anthem for both people, for all races, and put it together,” Quavo said (via Rap-Up). “Something that’s representing now, something that’s representing the modern-day national anthem. If I get with some good musicians, and just write something that’s very strong and powerful.”

The petition has already racked up close to 8000 signatures and growing and this extra press will just give it more momentum. Quavo has been a guest feature on almost every rap song this year from a ton of artists. I guess you can say that he got the Midas touch, but can he bring unity among races in America.

Vybz Kartel Mines Gold With PARTYNEXTDOOR “Not Nice”

Vybz Kartel mines gold with PARTYNEXTDOOR single “Not Nice” which has been certified gold.

The OVO singer released the single last summer and it became an instant hit. The track features PARTYNEXTDOOR singing over a dancehall Afrobeat which samples Vybz Kartel’s 2011 singles “Girl You Too Bad.” The song was also produced by Mixpak’s Dre Skull, who produced a number of songs for Vybz Kartel and Popcaan. PARTY is also a big fan of dancehall music and the writer behind Rihanna and Drake’s smash 2016 dancehall hit “Work.”

Last week, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirmed that the single “Not Nice” sold more than 500,000 copies in the United States. The video for the single also received 20 million views on YouTube. Vybz Kartel tastes success recently with his mega-hit “Fever” climbing to number 37 on the Billboard R&B chart and could climb even further as it grows in popularity.

Despite his incarceration since 2011, Vybz Kartel manages to stay relevant among dancehall fans even much more so than a lot of his peers in the Jamaican music space. A lot of his new music since his incarceration are from previously recorded unreleased material, but he came under scrutiny last year for allegedly recording music behind bars, a claim that he has since refuted. Even though he has denied the allegation, some industry stakeholders are not convinced. Perhaps that can also explain the slowdown of music coming out from his camp over the last couple of months.

PARTYNEXTDOOR is currently working on his next album and has been previewing some new music on social media from the upcoming project. He also writes a lot of music for other artists like his OVO boss Drake and pop artists like Rihanna. His next project will arrive by the end of the year or early next year.

Elvis Presley – U.s. Male Lyrics

ELVIS PRESLEY
U.s. Male Lyrics

Now, I’m a U.S. Male ’cause I was born
In a Mississippi town on a Sunday morn
Now Mississippi just happens to occupy a place
In the southeastern portion of this here United States
Now that’s a matter of fact, buddy
And you know it well
So I just call myself the U.S. Male
That’s M-A-L-E, son. That’s me!

Now I said all that to say all this
I’ve been watchin’ the way
You’ve been watchin’ my miss
For the last three weeks you been hot on her trail
And you kinda upset this U.S. Male
You touch her once with your greasy hands
I’m gonna stretch your neck like a long rubber band
She’s wearin’ a ring that I bought her on sale
And that makes her the property of this U.S. Male

You better not mess with the U.S. Male my friend
The U.S. Male gets mad, he’s gonna do you in
You know what’s good for yourself son
You better find somebody else son
Don’t tamper with the property of the U.S. Male

Through the rain and the heat and the sleet and the snow
The U.S. Male is on his toes
Quit watchin’ my woman, for that ain’t wise
You ain’t pullin’ no wool over this boy’s eyes
I catch you ’round my woman, champ
I’m gonna leave your head ’bout the shape of a stamp
Kinda flattened out, so you’ll do well
To quit playin’ games with this U.S. Male

You better not mess with the U.S. Male my friend
The U.S. Male gets mad, he’s gonna do you in
You know what’s good for yourself son
You better find somebody else son
Don’t tamper with the property of the U.S. Male

Sock it to me

All right…now I’m gonna tell it like it is son
I catch you messin’ ’round with that woman of mine
I’m gonna lay one on ya. You’re talkin’ to the U.S. Male
The American U.S. Male

Tommy Lee Sparta Lottery Scam Case Push Back To October

Tommy Lee Sparta still has a lottery scam cloud over his head because his trial was once again postponed.

The dancehall deejay was in court last week with his attorney when the judge postponed the highly anticipated trial until October 13. The trial was delayed because no courtroom was available to accommodate the case. In 2014, Tommy Lee Sparta along with three of his associates were charged for possession of identity information under the Law Reform Fraudulent Transaction Special Provisions Act.

According to the police report, in February 2014, cops raided a house that the deejay was renting in Kingston 5 where they found documents containing the names and personal information of persons living in the United States. The “Uncle Demon” deejay and several other occupants in the house were arrested and slapped with various charges related to the Anti-Lottery Act.

Busy Signal Addresses Mic Cut Off At Groovin In NYC

Busy Signal is still fuming after his microphone was cut off during his performance at last week’s Groovin’ In The Park in New York City.

The dancehall deejay wasn’t the only one who was visibly upset, the audience was also angry after the deejay’s set was cut short approximately 20 minutes into his performance. The entire incident seems like it was poor time management by the promoters and R. Kelly was scheduled to perform after Busy Signal. “If me can’t perform then R. Kelly can’t perform either,” Busy said before storming off the show.

“I think some time crunching was going on and I don’t know why they managed it so bad that it reached me,” Busy Signal said. “They didn’t manage the time right and I am very proud of the way I handled it. I asked the 40,000 people at ‘Groovin’ if they liked what was taking place and they said No.”

“I was scheduled to perform at 5 PM and I was there from 3:04 PM way before my time to perform,” Signal told Winford Williams. “I watched other acts performed their full set. People were there anticipated the whole thing and I was there peeping out to get a feel of what to expect and see the venue getting packed, I heard that this show was packed.”

Busy Signal recently got back his United States visa and work permit and this is his first performance in the U.S. in 15 years.

The Lox – Filthy America (Filthy America… It’s Beautiful Album)

[Intro: Courtroom Clerk]
Good morning, your honor
The first case is the United States versus Sean Jacobs
AKA Sheek Louch
AKA Silverback gorilla
AKA Donnie G
Our records indicate he’s being charged with an 848 and a 926C

[Verse 1: Sheek Louch]
Yo, your honor, listen
A father figure to a lot of these niggas, your honor
I learnt to swim with the sharks in a school of piranhas
Smoke marijauna, even bagged it up in pounds
I made money, packed guns, yeah, I held my grounds
Bullets ring, I don’t know how we made it this far
A skinny nigga too, I got up on the pull-up bar
Niggas dying over who fucked who
Some broke ass bitch with a fat ass made beef in ya crew
I went to see niggas in jail when I had nothing to do
I got a call to grab my burner when I was sick with the flu
I gave my soul to this music, hood love it, big labels abuse it
Honestly I’m still learning how to use it
I gave to charity, I flew niggas around for free
For my kids, think about that when you sentence me
Your honor

[Intro: Judge & *Courtroom Clerk*]
The verdict is in
We find Mr. Jacobs guilty
Sentenced to life
Send him to D Block, get him out my courtroom
*Our next case, your honor
United States versus David Style
AKA Ghost
AKA the Phantom
AKA Pinero
He’s being charged with an 848 and a 922G*
David Styles, do you have anything to say for yourself?

[Verse 2: Styles P]
Imma plead guilty
But before I do, your honor
You and the D suck a dick ’cause yo filthy
White America be killing Black America
Jail system slavery, how’s that America?
Drugs in the hood and you’re poisoning the food
School system suck and it’s hard to get a job
And poverty put niggas in a really bad mood
Call me a menace but I could’ve been a dentist
So I wish I had the pump at Donald Trump’s Apprentice
Bill was half black but middle finger to the Clinton
‘Cause niggas still lie, fuck that, yeah I’m venting
That’s my word, I’ve been frightened for a bird to catch a judge or a DA
Make them bite the curb and
And then remove their nerves or their bones or their ligaments
Tie ’em to the pipe and get a knife and start digging in
So, your honor, if you wanna hear my thoughts
Fuck you and the DA and this whole fucking court

[Intro: Judge & *Courtroom Clerk*]
We’ve come to the conclusion, the verdict is in
David Styles: guilty
You don’t have respect for humanity
You’re a menace to society
We sentence you to death row
Get him out my courtroom also
Get outta here
*Our next case, your honor, Is United States versus Jason Phillips
AKA Jadakiss
AKA Al-Qaeda Jada
AKA Top Five Dead or Alive
Being charged with an 848 and a 924C*
Jason Phillips, do you have anything you could possibly say for yourself?

[Verse 3: Jadakiss & *Judge*]
Your honor
I already paid my dues to society
Allegedly, I sold drugs, huge variety
Had to feed the ones I love, that’s a priority
No matter the verdict, they’ll forever be a part of me
You would much rather see me laying on the gurney
18 holes of golf and play with my attorney
The system is designed to burn me, not learn me
My arresting officer is related to Mark Fuhrman
Throw the noose up on the tree, that’s how they do here
I ain’t see a black nigga get acquitted that came through here
And I ain’t do fear
So all I ask the court is that they move me to a new jail, every two years
Either way you looking, it’ll finish
This is just a bunch of paragraphs in my mentions
*So what you want, forgiveness?*
Nah, I ain’t looking for forgiveness
All I give a fuck about is if the Yankees win the Pennant
Let’s get it

[Outro: Judge]
The verdict is in
We find Jason Phillips guilty
Sentenced to two life sentences with no possibility of parole
We’re going to make sure you never see the streets again, sir

A$ton Matthews – Coldest Night In Hell letras

[Intro]
Yeah, ok, yeah
These the darkest nights your boy done ever seen, yeah

[Verse 1]
These the darkest nights your boy done ever seen
A hunnid days, a hunnid nights, it’s like a murder scene
You know we seen but ain’t heard a thing
We just keep the choppers on the judge
The kitchen looking like the Medaying
Ball, who you think you playing with?
The ones that running with you
Them the ones you ain’t done playing with
Six feet under shit’s creek, dead sheep
You can hear the majors crying when the dead speak
They tell you everything you wanna hear, ok
Bare face, so I know you know you saw me clear
Thought I told you love was murder so you know it’s real
You always get the coldest feet before you close the deal
Ain’t no need to panic, I don’t feel no pressure
All my niggas pedal through the tragic, really with the extras
Catch a holy, catch a holy ghost, say a prayer
We don’t do the most, bed of black roses for your funeral

[Hook]
Dirty money, run it in the sink
This the coldest night in Hell you ever seen
Dirty money, run it in the sink
This the coldest night in Hell you ever seen
Dirty money, run it in the sink
This the coldest night in Hell you ever seen
Dirty money, run it in the sink
This the coldest night in Hell you ever seen

[Verse 2]
Been a long time coming, baby, hold your tongue
Ain’t no need for no opinions when you plottin’ on the millions
You been talking brazy, nigga, show me somethin’
But you more concerned with livin’, you been soft from the beginnin’
I could see it in your eyes, tell me what I gotta know
Spare me all the lies, put your body on the flo’
The code of honor wasn’t suited for ya
Buzzing through your Under Armour
Put six feet under, oughtta do it for ya
Snitches get the stitches, boy, you know the layout
Once you pulled up on the turf, you know the only way out
You know it’s death before dishonor, bullets from Nirvana
And we never put the pussy up before the commas
Boy, you really gotta see the vision
You really almost gotta lose it all before you see what’s missin’
And I’m just here to set the record straight
We sitting rats inside the barrel with snakes
Bullets through the heads and face
Hallelujah, drop my soul in that collection plate
Heaven gates, they already late
I picked the spot and you could set the date
I think I’m ready to die
I’ll fuck around and you’ll get buried alive, bitch

[Hook]
Dirty money, run it in the sink
This the coldest night in Hell you ever seen
Dirty money, run it in the sink
This the coldest night in Hell you ever seen
Dirty money, run it in the sink
This the coldest night in Hell you ever seen
Dirty money, run it in the sink
This the coldest night in Hell you ever seen

[Outro]
We begin tonight with that massive manhunt underway in Mexico for the man considered to be the world’s most dangerous drug lord. Joaquín Guzmán – you see him there – best known as “El Chapo,” has escaped from a maximum security prison for the second time. Worth more than a billion dollars, he’s the head of the cartel that controls much of the flow of cocaine, marijuana, and meth into the United States
But to be the man, you gotta beat the man!
And I’m saying – whoo! – right here, I’m, the, man – whoo!

Dubioza Kolektiv – U.S.A. lyrics

I am form Bosnia
Take me to America
I really want to see
Statue of Liberty

I can no longer wait
Take me to United States
Take me to Golden Gate
I will assimilate

The grass is always greener
In neighbors’ courtyard
I wish to leave this nightmare
Go to a Promised Land
Please, take me to your leader
I want my green card
I want to fly over
Like a rocket from the Balkans

I want to start all over
And turn a new page
Forget this dreadful story
Escape the Stone Age
I’m waiting for chance
To get out of the cage
I feel like a slave
On a minimal wage

I am form Bosnia
Take me to America
I really want to see
Statue of Liberty

I can no longer wait
Take me to United States
Take me to Golden Gate
I will assimilate

One day, when you reach the end
One day, you will understand
One day, back to roots my friend
No place like a motherland

I hoped I’ll find what I need
I’ll be free like a bird
Now we’re pushed in a ghetto
Like the sheep in a herd
All the promises I heard
Became empty words
Completely disconnected
From the rest of the world

The grass is never greener
In neighbors’ courtyard
I want to start all over
Return to No Mans Land
Send greetings to your leader
Don’t want your Green Card
I want to fly back
Like a rocket to the Balkans
