Jay Electronica – Ghost of Soulja Slim Lyrics

Play this song
[Intro: Louis Farrakhan]
So, all you scared to death negros
Just sit down
Don’t you come out to defend our enemy
You sit down and you shut up
And tell your master to come on out and deal with this
[Verse 1: JAY-Z]
Next time they bring up the Gods, you gon’ respect us
That lil’ vest ain’t gonna do you, I shoot from neck up
I ain’t even tryna hold ya, Magnolia Slim
I’m a soldier from that mode, I’m the ghost of him
From the era of police stretcher, no cameras catch it
Drop you off in a rival hood, you rather be arrested
If you didn’t have no straps, you couldn’t wear your necklace
Niggas hand around your throat, that’s a choker reference
My ancestors took old food, made soul food
Jim Crow’s a troll too, he stole the soul music
That’s the blood that goes through me, so you assumin’
I could never sell my soul, they sold they soul to me
Peaceful teaching of Rumi, but don’t confuse me
You mouth off for the cameras, I make a silent movie
Now here’s some jewelry
No civilization is conquered from the outside until it destroys itself from within
Pen, put a pin in that, will come back when I fin
You can’t talk like I talk ’cause you ain’t been where I been, young
[Verse 2: Jay Electronica]
If it come from me and Hov, consider it Qur’an
If it come from any of those, consider it Harām
The minaret that Jigga built me on the Dome of the Roc
Was crafted, so beautifully, consider this Adhan
From a hard place and a rock to the Roc Nation of Islam
I emerged on the wave that Tidal made to drop bombs
I came to bang with the scholars
And I bet you a Rothschild I get a bang for my dollar
The synagogue of Satan want me to hang by my collar
But all praise due to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala
I put on for my nation like I’m King T’Challa
Crushing the oyibo that try to bring wahala
You want it, I got it
Don’t make me have to blast this rocket, uh
Jay Electricity
The thing he need like a whole in his head is publicity
Though he shine like a Christmas tree
Verily, verily, I tread through life merrily
Giving all thanks to God for this universal therapy
[Outro: JAY-Z]
Think of things I said that you hated then
Empirical facts that can’t be debated now
Things you say today, I was sayin’ then
Tell us who your favorite now

Meanwhile Georgie Porgie sinnin’ and sendin’ me threats
Save your breath, you couldn’t beat a flight of steps
Try that shit with a grown man
I’ll kill that fuckboy with my own hand
And hop back in the coupe (woo, woo)
Let’s go back to the mud, I’ll hop right out the suit
Save all that woopty woop
Let’s let the money talk, let the Uzi shoot
No jewels in this Patek Philippe
It’s complicated, three million apiece
Sheesh, that’s how we do time
Dujac by the mag, that’s how we do wine
$91,000 for a wine bill
Keep it real with you, that was Juan’s bill
My whole team ball
Everybody’s a star but the team ball
’61 with the thing off
Me and Blue havin’ a sing off
That’s a raspberry beret
The kind you find in a second-hand store
That’s a vintage piece
Kind that make haters kiss their teeth, you can’t buy this new
I had the ‘Bach-bach-bach you know how I do
Two-tone with the powder blue (woo)
Realest shit to come out the stu’
Khaled is valid, every word is true
What these niggas gon’ do without us, dude?

[Chorus: Future]
I took the top off the Maybach
I took the top off the Maybach
I took the top off the Maybach
I took the top off the Maybach, rrt
I, I took the top off my Maybach, nigga
I took the top off my Maybach

[Verse 2: JAY-Z]
I chopped the top off in Otis
Ridin’ ’round town with the FLOTUS
1.5 for the Landaulet
Bey, put these fuckboys on notice (fuckboys on notice)

[Verse 3: Beyoncé]
I’m the only lady here, still the realest nigga in the room
I break the internet, top two and I ain’t number two
My body, my ice, my cash, all real, I’m a triple threat
Fuck it up and then leave, come back, fuck it up and leave again
Top off the coupe and it look like Freaknik
In the hood, hollerin’, “Free Meek”
Two deep, it’s just me and JAY
Just posted in them courtside seats
Woo! I’m like “hol’ up”
Woo! I might roll up
If they’re tryna party with the queen
They gon’ have to sign a non-disclosure, ayy

[Chorus: Beyoncé & Future]
I took the top off the Maybach, yeah
I took the top off the Maybach (ain’t gon’ stop)
I took the top off the Maybach (rah)
I took the top off the Maybach (woo, woo)
Ayy, I took the top off of my Maybach, bitch
I took the top off of my Maybach, bitch
I took the top off the Maybach
I took the top off the Maybach
I took the top off the Maybach
I took the top off the Maybach

[Bridge: Future]
Ooh-ooh, ooh, it’s glittery, glittery
Ooh-ooh, it’s pricy, pricy
Ooh-ooh, 1.5
Ooh-ooh, I’m hyphy, I’m hyphy

[Refrain: Future]

Jay-Z – Legacy

[Intro: Blue Ivy Carter]
Daddy, what’s a will?

[Verse 1]
Take those moneys and spread ‘cross families
My sisters, Hattie and Lou, the nephews, cousins and TT
Eric, the rest to B for whatever she wants to do
She might start an institute
She might put poor kids through school
My stake in Roc Nation should go to you
Leave a piece for your siblings to give to their children too
TIDAL, the champagne, D’USSÉ, I’d like to see
A nice peace-fund ideas from people who look like we
We gon’ start a society within a society
That’s major, just like the Negro League
There was a time America wouldn’t let us ball
Those times are now back, just now called Afro-tech
Generational wealth, that’s the key
My parents ain’t have shit, so that shift started with me
My mom took her money, she bought me bonds
That was the sweetest thing of all time, uh

[Chorus]
Legacy, Legacy, Legacy, Legacy
Black excellence baby, you gon’ let ’em see
Legacy, Legacy, Legacy, Legacy
Black excellency, baby, let ’em see

[Interlude]
I remember, like, listenin’ to Wu-Tang
And niggas like, "Your seed married his seed, married my seed"
That’s how we keep Carter money all in the family

[Verse 2]
You see, my father, son of a preacher man
Whose daughter couldn’t escape the reach of the preacher’s hand
That charge of energy set all the Carters back
It took all these years to get to zero in fact
I hated religion ’cause here was this Christian
He was preachin’ on Sundays, versus how he was livin’ Monday
Someday I forgive him
‘Cause strangely our division led to multiple religions
I studied Muslim, Buddhist, and Christians
And I was runnin’ from him, He was givin’ me wisdom
See how the universe works?
It takes my hurt and help me find more of myself
It’s a gift and a curse
That’s called the Red Queen’s Race

[Bridge]
You run this hard just to stay in place
Keep up the pace, baby
Keep up the pace
You run this hard just to stay in place

[Chorus]
Legacy, Legacy, Legacy, Legacy
Black excellence, you gon’ let ’em see
Legacy, Legacy, Legacy, Legacy
Black excellency, baby, let ’em see

[Outro: Donny Hathaway]
Day, someday, someday we’ll all
Someday we’ll all be free

Meek Mill & JAY-Z’s Roc Nation Sued By Family Of Slain Concertgoer

Meek Mill and JAY-Z’s Roc Nation are being sued by the family of a concertgoer who was murdered.

Meek Mill has more legal troubles on his hand after the family of a man who was slain at one of his concerts filed a lawsuit against him and Roc Nation. The incarcerated rapper is currently fighting for his freedom after being sent to prison for 2-4 years for probation violation. Even if he manages to secure his release, his legal troubles are far from over.

The family of Jaquan Graves filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Meek Mill and Roc Nation, TMZ reported. The Philly rapper is currently signed to Roc Nation on a management contract.

Graves was shot and killed in the parking lot outside of the venue at one of Meek Mill’s concerts last year in Connecticut. He had just left the venue when suddenly gunfire erupted sending people running for their lives. The suite claims that Meek and RN “allowed thugs to remain on the premises, after exhibiting disorderly, disruptive, argumentative, angry and/or agitated behavior toward patrons.”

Turns out that this is the second lawsuit that Meek Mill is facing from the shooting incident because a second person also died. That victim’s family also filed a lawsuit a few weeks ago where they requested in their suit that the Dreamchasers rapper submitted a written response under oath about their questions about the incident within 30 days. That suit accused Meek of harboring thugs at his concerts making the venue unsafe for concertgoers. It’s unclear if the Philly rapper responded to the lawsuit. His lawyers are currently busy working overtime trying to get him out of prison.

He also denied having any involvement in the shooting incident and argued that the claims made against him in the lawsuit is filled with racist undertones and stereotypes.

Meek Mill Gets New Bail Hearing Set For November 27

Meek Mill will have a chance to be released from prison when he appeared at his new bail hearing set for November 27.

Lawyers representing the Philly rapper have been working overtime to find even the smallest of crack in the justice system that would get him free from prison. If you have been living under a rock for the past two weeks, Meek Mill is currently in a Pennsylvania state prison serving 2-4 years for probation violation. But the case drew so much scrutiny and widespread outcry that from some big-name celebrities like JAY-Z.

Come November 27, Meek Mill will again be in front of judge Judge Genece Brinkley for a bail hearing and no one knows yet where things will go from there but the fact that he is getting a bail hearing while he is serving a sentence in prison likely means that the judge had some time to think about her heavy-handed sentencing and want to right her wrong.

Meek Mill has been on probation for years following his drug and gun conviction in 2008. Earlier this year, he was arrested in St Louis for allegedly getting into a fight at the airport. He later told authorities that he was simply breaking up a fight. He was arrested again in August In New York City for popping a wheelie on a dirt bike while shooting a music video. Cops say they arrested him for reckless endangerment among other traffic violations.

Both cases were later dismissed after he took a plea deal and was given just community service. JAY-Z, who signed Meek Mill to his management company Roc Nation, penned an opinion piece in the New York Times today where he spoke out in depth about the justice system preying on black people for years.

“The specifics of Meek’s case inspired me to write this,” JAY-Z wrote. “But it’s time we highlight the random ways people trapped in the criminal justice system are punished every day. The system treats them as a danger to society, consistently monitors and follows them for any minor infraction — with the goal of putting them back in prison.”

The rap legend argued that tax payers will have to spend thousands of dollars to keep Meek Mill in prison for the duration of his sentence just for a small crime that could see him doing community service and giving back in some way to his community. “Taxpayers in Philadelphia, Meek Mill’s hometown, will have to spend tens of thousands of dollars each year to keep him locked up, and I bet none of them would tell you his imprisonment is helping to keep them safer,” Hov wrote.

Fans Poured Out For Free Meek Mill Rally In Philly [VIDEO]

Thousands of fans poured out in Philadelphia on Monday for a Free Meek Mill rally.

The Dreamchasers rapper is currently serving 2-4 years in a state prison in Pennsylvania for probation violation. But his sentencing last week sparked a national debate about the criminal justice system and now his fans are demanding a review of the controversial sentence. Both hip hop fans and the rapper’s celebrity peers have been weighing in on the case and most are in agreement that the sentence was heavy-handed and unjust.

The rally started at 5 p.m. on Monday at Philadelphia’s Criminal Justice Center and the crowd later marched through the streets. There is no word yet on if any celebrities attended the rally, but some members of Meek Mill’s Dreamchaser crew were there to support the rapper. NFL star and the leader of the new wave of anti social injustice, Colin Kaepernick, has also weighed in with a message on Twitter.

“Sadly there are Black folks going through the same radicalized injustice(s) within the justice system that Meek Mill has experienced for over a decade EVERY SINGLE DAY,” he wrote. “This requires more than just gradual reform in laws—It requires a swift overhaul.”

The video clip below, show a section of the large crowd rapping Meek Mill’s intro to his album, Dreams and Nightmares. There are a lot of allegations around the judge in Meek Mill case, some sources say she was carrying a grudge against the Philly rapper and even comes from the same section of Philadelphia where Meek’s from. The latest allegation is that she tried to get the rapper to leave his management company Roc Nation and signed with a local Philly manager.

“When she requests he leaves his current management Roc Nation—which is one of the most important management companies in the world—and goes back to a local Philadelphia guy who has a spotted past because she had a personal relationship with him as manager, again, she’s doing something that a judge would never be doing, having a personal interest,” Meek’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, told Billboard.

JAY-Z Speaks On Meek Mill Prison Sentence “It’s Unjust”

JAY-Z is supporting Meek Mill amidst his shocking 2-4 years prison sentence for probation violation calling the sentencing “unjust.”

In a rare public statement, the Roc Nation boss posted a message on his official Facebook account criticizing the judge sentencing while stating that he will always stand by Meek Mill. “The sentence handed down by the Judge — against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer — is unjust and heavy handed. We will always stand by and support Meek Mill, both as he attempts to right this wrongful sentence and then in returning to his musical career,” Hov wrote.

A judge handed down the heavy sentencing on Monday after ruling that Meek Mill violated his probation when he got arrested twice this year. Although the charges against the Philly rapper was eventually dropped, the judge ruled that the arrest alone was a violation of his parole. Meek has been on probation for a gun and drug charge dated back to 2009. In 2015, he served three months on house arrest for violating his probation by traveling out of state without permission. In March of this year, he was arrested and charged with assault which is a misdemeanor following an altercation at the St. Louis airport. In August he found himself in police custody again for stunting in the streets of New York City.

For both charges, he struck a plea deal that leaves him with just community service and the arrest records wiped clean from his name. Meek Mill has been getting a lot of support from his fans and celebrity peers including Kevin Hart who shared a message on Instagram. The Philly rapper also reacted to news of his sentencing writing, “They say we equal I used to wanna play I like Randall and be a Eagle I used to play the quarterback my homie would go receiver that was until the football got flattened by a dope needle on the pavement.”

The sentence handed down by the Judge — against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation…

J. Cole’s Dreamville Records Signs Rap Group EarthGang

J. Cole‘s imprint Dreamville Records signs rap group EarthGang.

Talks of the signing have been floating around for a few months now, but now both J. Cole and the rap duo have confirmed that signatures are now on paper and the signing is now official. EarthGang is a rap duo based in Atlanta comprising of Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot. The first person the hint at the signing is DJ Drama who somehow let it slip out his mouth a few months ago.

EarthGang has already announced their new Rags EP and this cosigns from one of the dopest rappers in the game J. Cole will only boost their profile. In a video posted online, you can see the Roc Nation rapper praising Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot. “When n***as think about Atlanta, they think about super trap sh*t,” he said. “They think about, ya know, Future…Future is the God right now in that world and that lane. But it’s like, them kids you seen at that show tonight…they actually relate more to ya’ll.” Cole also promised the duo that he will make himself available to them right along their journey.

It’s good to see J. Cole expanding his own Dreamville brand and building his own stable of artists and if he can recognize the talent of these two rappers just like JAY-Z recognized his, then that can only be good for hip hop and good for these aspiring emcees. EarthGang will be releasing their new Rage EP on September 1st. The duo will then embark on a tour this fall and will likely begin work on their debut album. J. Cole is also working on his next album and was recently spotted in the studio with Dr. Dre. No word yet on when his next project will arrive but you can expect an announcement from his camp soon.

Jay-Z – Dream. On

Yeah
I’m from where dreamin’ ain’t allowed
‘Specially when you’re dreamin’ aloud
Enough to dream your self-esteem into clouds
It takes tears, sweat, blood, 5 CCs
‘Cause I know what a kid in apartment 5C see’d
Heaven knows, all I had was hella hope
Speed datin’ with destiny, I couldn’t tell her nope
When I first saw stars, television was my telescope
For me, somethin’ that could see me free was a bar
Threw diamonds in the sky that never came down, now that’s a star
My vision was big enough to get me out of the space
I wanted to pass how far I see
I wondered, could a kid from Mars see a kid from Marcy?
For things that are seen are temperal
The most beautiful things are invisible
Roc Nation, indivisible
American dream team
Paper planes turned into the real thing
You are whatever you say you are
Turn any situation around
Who. Are. You?
God

The show was premiered on Wednesday night on VH1 at 9 p.m. EST and will comprise of eight one-hour episodes based in Atlanta. “We hate the hook but I like the flow,” The-Dream said while Rick Ross added, “You’re so beautiful for the eyes but your chorus I didn’t like, but what I did love was your voice… When I look into her eyes I see confidence got me hypnotized.”

Female rapper Jazz Anderson also auditioned on the first episode and unlike Just Brittany, she spit bars a capella. The artist who makes it past the development stage will have a chance to get sign to Maybach Music Group, Roc Nation, or Radio Killa Records.

Kanye West Terminates TIDAL Contract Amidst JAY-Z Fallout

Kanye West is furious with TIDAL and JAY-Z and is parting ways with the music streaming service amidst his fallout with Hov.

JAY-Z released his new album 4:44 on Friday where he took a few shots at Kanye West. Ye likely took it to heart and decided to fully cut ties with Hov and in the process TIDAL. That is just half of the story because it seems Kanye was having issues with TIDAL long before JAY-Z drop 4:44. All of this started when Ye dropped his last album The Life of Pablo where he famously brought 1.5 million new subscribers to TIDAL.

According to TMZ, Kanye West claims that TIDAL owes him $3 million from a bonus he was promised for bringing 1.5 million new subscribers to the streaming service. Ye said he never get paid for some exclusive music videos he was asked to release on the platform. Now Kanye is saying that TIDAL breach their contract with him so he sent them a letter through his lawyers saying he terminate the contract. Attorneys representing both sides tried to hash things out but was unable to reach an agreement.

It won’t be that easy for Kanye West to completely cut ties with JAY-Z since he is also signed to Roc Nation. The G.O.O.D Music leader is also part owner of TIDAL along with a bunch of other artists. Certainly, he can get out of his deal with Roc Nation, but he would have to sell his shared in TIDAL which won’t happen overnight. Kanye famous released his album The Life of Pablo exclusively on TIDAL prompting a lot of his fans to subscribe to the music streaming service when he announced that his album will never be available on Apple Music and Spotify. A couple weeks later he made the album available on those platforms and some fans threatened to sue him over it.

Casanova – Tax Letter (Be Safe Tho Mixtape)

This nigga Tax out here volunteering to eat ass
This nigga wanna eat ass
Fuck Cas
Cas out here with his wife
If he wouldn’ve left her home we would’ve been litttttttt
Litttttttt, everything getting shot

Dear beloved, how you holdin’ up?
Whip still movin’, we ain’t slowin’ up
Wish you was right here rollin’ up
I got songs with Chris Brown, man I’m blown’ up
That fed case hit me like a car crash
But I still listen to your podcast
On the beat, they miss you in the streets
Who else gon’ bring that heat
Like that interview with Meek?
In the Wraith, still drinking D’USSÉ
With the chase, used to get that shit by the case
And the bevel, they callin’ you a devil
You went against the grain, you was more like a rebel
I know you waitin’ on that mail from me
Charlamagne, said he’s helpin’ with the bail money
And thats a fact, you helped me out the trap
You got my deal for me, I ain’t ever goin’ back

Just tryna get you situated back
Even Wack said the situation wack
The billys still beefin’ with the macks
I tried to swipe a fit, they ran a trapper outta Saks
I guess they know my face now
"Don’t Run" got me all over the place now
Break you outta jail, just give me one try
This is how it sound when a thug cry

The lawyer know that you more wiser
To ever turn Irving Plaza to the Gaza
Besides, you had the deals and endorsements
When I heard the news, I swear to god, man I lost it
Pause this
I met Jay Z, at a Roc Nation brunch it was crazy
Cut a couple niggas off, niggas be shady
They never supported me, nigga can you blame me?
But I’m state to state though
These niggas showin’ love, but it’s fake though
Yeah I know its gettin’ late, bro
But you already know, nigga, be safe though

81 – Yo Gotti lyrics

Lyrics Yo Gotti – 81

Only if a nigga knew like
It’s amazin’ what 365 days can do for you
This time last year niggas was like
Talkin’ ’bout cuttin’ budgets and shit
I dropped the biggest record of my career, yeahhh
Nigga business partner with Jay-Z
Shout out to Ty Ty, wassup nigga?
Emory, what it do?
You see ’em.(81)

Gotta pick ’em wisely
Gotta choose ’em carefully
Got niggas I know that weren’t there for me
Got b*tches I know that don’t care for me
Could of went on tour with your favorite rapper and declined
Why? I’m tryna break CMG
So f*ck that, I’m doin’ mine
They see I’m mad, see they call in the streets, call me back
Say they miss the old Gotti, old Jeezy, old Boosie, that was real rap
In New York with 3 bangers
Did Jimmy Fallon with Meaghan Trainor
I guess the sets won’t taint him
Guess the money can’t change him
Decisions
Homie on probation
Took him up to Roc Nation
Let him meet Jay, told him be patient
Decisions, and lil homie really got it
Trying to tell him wait his turn
He ain’t learn, lil homie caught a body.

9 times 9 is 81
I’m an 80’s baby born in ’81 (from the crib yeah)
From a family full of hustlers, youngest son
They say get that money, show ’em how it’s done
9 times 9 is 81
I’m an 80’s baby born in ’81
From a family full of hustlers, youngest son
They say get that money, show ’em how it’s done
How it’s done, got it, got it how it’s done
You would make that shit look easy, how it’s done
Gotti you make that shit look easy, how it’s done
Gotti you make that shit look easy, how it’s done.

Biggest year of my career
I feel the pressure, gotta follow up
Same time I can feel the feds
Gettin’ closer, lockin’ niggas up
Decisions
Closer partners, they in prison
Never want to be the biggest
I just want to be the realest
I pay 6 figures a year for a hitter
Not ’cause he a goon, he my nigga (nigga, nigga)
He got the city divided
Bring it together, I tried it
f*ck them lil niggas, I tried it
f*ck them lil niggas, I tried it
I am the king, your highness
You want a problem, well find it
I was too busy gettin’ too many million
Like now the perfect timin’
Let them lil niggas in
They what they do to b*tch
I don’t be trippin’ at all
Whatever come with it, I’m with it
Lil nigga, I swear I’m good for it all.

9 times 9 is 81
I’m an 80’s baby born in ’81 (from the crib yeah)
From a family full of hustlers, youngest son
They say get that money, show ’em him how it done
9 times 9 is 81

From a family full of hustlers, youngest son
They say get that money, show ’em him how it done
How it’s done, got it, got it how it’s done
You would make that shit look easy, how it’s done
Gotti you make that shit look easy, how it’s done
Gotti you make that shit look easy, how it’s done.

1 million, 2 million, 3
CM9 strictly for the streets
I’m tryna get a twin Piece
First class nigga, I’m a millionaire
First class nigga, I’m a millionaire
I’m tryna be the first trap billionaire
I’m tryna be the first trap billionaireee.

Rapsody – Crown

[Verse 1]
Hey, hey you there
Where’s your crown?
You didn’t leave the house without your crown did you?
Just as sure as the earth is round we bounce back up when they throw us down
So don’t forget your crown
And hold your head high, like you caught a glimpse of God through the clouds and you stuck in awe
Don’t worry we got y’all
Mind and body, body and mind, tell ’em homies
The world is bigger than your street and mine and that colour and this
And every shade of our skin is rich
Knowing your future depends on our involvement
So, block boys, block boys, it’s in our hands more than Parliament
The gun can kill or the gun can save, rather congratulate a stage than carry him to a grave
That’s responsibility, my brother’s keeper, my sister’s big sister
Life full of limits we just gotta add a little sugar to, to those sweet dreams
You can be anything, go further than me, be better than him, climb higher than her
And never ever let em knock your crown, that’s my word
All hands on deck
Making queens and kings of all cards we delt
Jam, Roc Nation
Let’s go

[Beat Change]

[Verse 2]
I lied to momma one time when I was eleven
Riding in the car she told me "Summer won’t forget it
Truth ‘gon chase the light no matter what night that you set it"
It make me feel so low she peeled my feelings back like lettuce
With no salad told me save all of the carriage for the ballads
Now I’m dropping jewels as if we gave up on the marriage
I know it’s hard to handle we ain’t came here in no carriage
The hood is for the rain and where they throw us is the barracks
Where we learn to master beats without a panther or a ferret
It came out in the ’80s same as me I was a baby
And what I learned ’bout life is: Lord is sure is not the fairest
If your skin ain’t as fair as all the Beckys, Tiffanys, and Sarahs
Black don’t crack, Obama ain’t flinch
I sat inside The White House having conversations
How boys turn to men if we show ’em more than the rims
If they jumping high for the rims, ain’t a goal that we cannot win
I’m setting peaks for you and them I hope you roll off
Million black graduates, woo! Just go and show off
Reaching out to everyone from the top of the block y’all
Eliminate pitchers we grew up with, what’s the curve ball?
I made something out of nothing, better out of worse
Take care of your own I know I gotta do that first
I know there’s power in my time I know there’s power in a verse
Tell a kid good job and tell him go hard on the work
You know the world you grew up in is very small compared to Earth
It’s the worst they lied and told you your limits on the future
Y’all can brush it off though, came back around and groom ya
Me, Alicia, Talib, Busta, everyone and you ya, agh!
If life ain’t a ruse, rule whatever you dream you can do, do
They tell me I’m a king!
They tell me I’m a queen!
If life ain’t a ruse, rule whatever you dream you can do, do
They tell me I’m a king!
They tell me I’m a queen!
