Solange To Perform At Benefit Concert For Hurricane Harvey Victims

Solange Knowles will be hosting a benefit concert for the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston next month.

Beyonce and Solange calls Houston their first home so when Harvey wrecked havoc on that city earlier this week, they immediately chips in to help in any way that they can. Beyonce alone is donating $7 million to the relief efforts currently underway after the storm claimed dozens of lives and left a trail of destruction and flooding all over the Houston area. The concert is called “Orion’s Rise” and will be held at the Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on September 28.

“I will be doing a special “Orions Rise” show in Boston, and ALL proceeds will go towards Hurricane Harvey Relief,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m committed to partnering with organizations on the ground in Houston and making contributions to uplift the city that raised me with so much love. See you September 28th Boston, I thank you in advance for making this a special meaningful night.”

Following that benefit concert, Solange will be embarking on a tour in October and she is bringing along with her artists such as Flying Lotus, Chassol, Earl Sweatshirt, and the Sun Ra Arkestra who will also be performing at her benefit show.
