Dr. Dre On Beating Dee Barnes “It Will Follow Me Forever”

Dr. Dre once again says that he is sorry for beating Dee Barnes and added that it’s something that will “follow me forever.”

Back in January 1991, Dr. Dre, Dr. Dre got into a heated argument with journalist Dee Barnes over an interview that she did with Ice Cube. Cube has left N.W.A. at the time and used the interview to bad mouth the group. Dr. Dre was angry and according to an account from Dee Barnes, the rapper/producer picked her up and slammed her into a wall. Per a report from Rolling Stone at the time, Dre then followed her into the restroom where he “grabbed her from behind by the hair and proceeded to punch her in the back of the head.”

In part two of the HBO documentary series “The Defiant Ones”, the hip hop mogul opened up about the incident saying it tarnish his image badly. “Any man that puts his hands on a female is a f***ing idiot,” Dr. Dre said. “He’s out of his f***ing mind, and I was out of my f***ing mind at the time. I f***ed up, I paid for it, I’m sorry for it, I apologize for it. I have this dark cloud that follows me and it’s going to be attached to me forever. It’s a major blemish on who I am as a man.”
